MY BACKGROUND:

After completing my PhD studies in contemporary cultural history (partly in France, Italy, Croatia and Austria), I have worked for Multicultural Centre Prague where I helped to implement an EACEA funded project dealing with the inclusion of the migrants in urban space of several European cities. In Brno, I have worked as an EURAXESS Contact Person for South Moravian Centre for International Mobility aiming to smoothen the relocation of expatriated researchers. Upon my return to Prague, I have collaborated with several institutions, in particular in tasks linked with FP7 and H2020 projects. In addition, I have also partly worked as an active researcher, which enabled me to figure as an external evaluator for several European and national grant providers. My current research examines topics at the intersection of class and xenophobia in contemporary Czech society. I was a member of COST Action 15137 ENRESSH (European Network for Research Evaluation in the Social Sciences and the Humanities) taking part in the activities of WG2 “Societal impact and relevance” and I am a founding member of the Centre for Study of Popular Culture.

WHY AM I INTERESTED IN RESPONSIBLE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION:

Within my current position of H2020 Contact Person at European Centre, Department of Science and Research, Rectorate of Charles University, I have learned to identify and communicate funding opportunities to researchers, as well as to provide overall support with stimulating their participation in the research projects funded by European Commission. Whereas the researchers usually do not have major difficulties of argumentation in the criterion Excellence and most of them manage to argument the criterion Implementation with the help of their administrative support, the criterion of Impact, and in particular their argumentation of the societal impact rests generally less convincing.

WHAT DO I HOPE TO LEARN / CONTRIBUTE AS COUNTRY CORRESPONDENT:

As a SUPER MoRRI Country Correspondent, I hope to discover and participate in the current trends in research evaluation. I aim to map the current research landscape of the Czech Republic in relation to responsible research and innovation. In general terms, I would like to contribute to the debate about the role of research in a truly inclusive society.
